Life Coaching And Why Happiness Is Good For You
In the Express online, in March 2011, I came across this great article about happiness:
Why is happiness so good for you? Because the more contented we are the fewer stress-related illnesses we suffer…
I love these kind of articles because fundamentally, it’s what my work as a life coach is all about: being happier overall, everywhere, by being happier within ourselves.
This quote from the article is so true:
“Dr Linley is director of the Centre of Applied Positive Psychology in Coventry where the belief is that to become happier we should focus more on what is good about our lives, rather than what is wrong. Unfortunately, many studies suggest that while most of us are considerably better off than our grandparents were, we are no happier than in the post-war years.”
I recommend reading the article, it mentions some ideas proven to boost happiness, including: listen to birds singing, have a good giggle, keep a gratitude diary, measure your levels of happiness, lose weight, get fit and go to church, give your money away, or move to Denmark!!
So why not give it a go!
Our lives are filled with events and situations that can be seen as happy or not; make it a personal goal to focus as much as you can, every day on what is good in your life and it will definitely affect how you feel in a positive way.
Be happy, be healthy, and enjoy your life!
