How to Deal With Change and Trauma
When we start working with a life coach, change can be gradual.
However, often when change is only small, maybe even only 5%, it’s important to recognise that change has occurred and that things are that much better than they were before.
Pat yourself on the back and acknowledge what you have achieved – remember to say “Well Done Me!!” and smile to yourself.
You are an achiever, therefore you are inclined to want to push yourself further and further forward, and sometimes you may forget to say “thank you” to yourself for what you have in this moment…
Give yourself time and allow yourself this time to reflect, to rest, and to heal. I say “heal” because when you have been through a lot of change, disruption, ups and downs and trauma in your life, you need time. You may have separated from a long term partner, lost a life-partner, moved home, city or country; changed or lost your career; dealt with an illness or loss of a child or relative, or faced any other difficulty.
Give yourself time, give yourself permission to simply be present, to nourish and nurture yourself and to become spiritually, emotionally and mentally as strong as you used to be, and even stronger with all your new life learnings and experiences.
